You can find a rubber grommet that fits around the wire, drill a hole in the rear of the old burnt out cig lighter the size for the grommet to mount on, then thread the wire through the hole, and wire it up to your interior fuse box where the old cigarette lighter wiring went, or put an inline fuse in, and run it directly to your battery

Cut a fuse in half, remove all plastic and solder the fuse holder wires on to the two halves of the fuse. Suitably sleeve solder joints. Remove cigarette lighter socket fuse from fuse box. Insert said fuse into inline fuse holder. One end of fuse holder into unused TCU fuseway, and other end into load side of cigarette lighter socket fuseway.
