From my experience with doing suspension mods two F bikes (an 800 and a 700), front forks are the big payoff. My upgrades were on the low end of the budget spread pointed out by others. On both bikes I changed springs and installed Racetech’s “Gold Valve Emulators”, and wow, what an improvement. I Installed an aftermarket shock on the 700.
