In 1995 and 1996, the BACKCSC helped the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club (the AKC parent club for Cavaliers) hold matches and judges' seminars. These events helped lead to the approval of the ACKCSC as an AKC licensed show-giving club. Then, in 2002, the BACKCSC successfully achieved its own licensed status with the AKC.
